SSAC Development of an Animal Bioscience Network in Scotland: SSAC Workshop Report
The SSAC believes that Scotland has an opportunity to translate its excellence in animal bioscience research into benefits for animals, humans and the Scottish economy however it is essential that any forward strategy for animal science in Scotland must take a pan Scotland view and a joined up approach.
This is the principal conclusion of a report published today by the Scottish Science Advisory Council who organised a workshop to promote greater collaborative working across the animal bioscience sector in Scotland.

Scottish Partnership for Animal Science Excellence (SPASE) - Concept Note
This is a proposal to create a partnership of scientific excellence and relevance in the animal biosciences as they relate to the control of animal diseases, sustainable high quality food production and interactions with the natural environment (‘quality animals for quality products from a quality environment’). This partnership aims to exploit the existing excellence in Scotland, pooling its research strengths and enhancing further its international competitiveness.
