Professor Environmental Statistics, University of Glasgow Marian Scott is Professor of Environmental Statistics in the Department of Statistics at the University of Glasgow. Professor Scott’s research interests focus on the use of statistics in environmental science, policy and regulation. She is also a member of the University of Glasgow's Pain and Welfare Group, and has an interest in developing means of assessing quality of life measurement instruments for companion and farm animals. Professor Scott is a member of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) Environmental Statistics section and the Panel for Ecosystem Change. In Scotland, she sits on the Natural Environment Statistics Advisory Committee, the Particles Retrieval Advisory Group (Dounreay) (PRAG) and the science advisory committee of the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre. In 2009 she was awarded the OBE for services to Environmental Science.
