Director of the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, Craigiebuckler, Aberdeen and Honorary Professor in the Department of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Aberdeen.
Professor Gill has significant experience in managing both applied and strategic research on natural resources in both the public and private sectors, having held senior positions with The Natural Resources Institute and NR International. She is also a Member of Council of the Royal Veterinary College, a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Livestock Research Institute and a Member of the Strategic Advisory Group to AgResearch, New Zealand. A livestock nutritionist originally, her current research interests relate to the interactions between livestock and the environment.
